Easy Chinese Recipe - Stirfry Bean sprouts - final0Enjoy tasty bacon with crunchy and refreshing bean sprouts in 5 minutes! It’s one of my favorite Chinese Recipes for stir-fry bean sprouts that is so simple but so tasty!

Hands-on Time: 5 min. Total Time: 5 min.

SHORT VERSION:

In a pan, add bacon (2 slices, cut into bites), add garlic. Cook for 1 to 2 min. Add bean sprouts (rinsed, ~ 0.5 lb), cooking wine (1T), S&P (1 pinch). Cook for 2 min. Done!

TIP:

Tip.1

Adding cooking wine when cooking bean sprouts can 1) accelerate the cooking process without turning bean sprout too soft, 2) add aroma and flavor to the dish.

Tip.2

If you’d like to eat low fat, you can drain out the bacon fat before adding bean sprouts.

Tip.3

Cook Bacon with garlic. They are perfect together. But don’t burn the garlic. If you see garlic starts to turn brown but the bacon is not done yet, simple push garlic to the side and cook bacon to your desire level.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE (G.E.M.) – the small steps to take you dish to the next level

G.E.M.1

Remove the tip and tail of the bean sprout for better texture and taste. Yes, it’s a lot of work and I usually skip this step.

G.E.M.2

Add scallion or basil for at the end of stir fry to add flavor and color for presentation.
